Sermon Outline

Leviticus 6-7

Fellowship with a Holy God

The goal of sacrifice is fellowship with God and Jesus has offered the perfect sacrifice for us

  1. An invitation to fellowship

  2. The complexity of drawing near to God for fellowship (1:1-6:7)

  3. The priests were stewards of holiness so that fellowship could occur

    • We should support those who labour in ministry on our behalf (1 Cor. 9:13-14)

    • Those who labour in ministry should focus on the goal not the tasks

  4. The goal of the sacrifices was fellowship between people and God

    • Jesus is God come to dwell with us so we can have fellowship with him (John 1:14; 14:23; Hebrews 10:19-22)

    • Jesus has offered the perfect worship of approach so we can engage in worship of response (Romans 12:1-2; Philippians 4:18; Hebrews 13:15)

    • The Lord’s Supper is one place Christians can celebrate and enjoy fellowship with God (1 Cor. 10:14-22)
